Collaborating with my art director, we were challenged with defining what “Tex-Italian” meant for a long-standing restaurant client. Orlando’s had often used the phrase, but had never visually explained it.
After a think tank with other agency members, we landed on “Tex-Italian: Italian with its Spurs On” and “Ciao Down Y’all”.
The first combines Italy, aka the boot country, with an iconic Texan spur, made all the more intentional using the Lone Star as the spur wheel.
The second marries Italian and Texan on different levels, with Orlando’s logo font being the tying factor in “Down”.
